Unincorporated associations

Unincorporated associations are subject to the provisions of the Civil Obligations Act

An association may operate even if it is not registered, i.e. if it does not have legal personality. Unincorporated associations are not subject to the Act on Associations, but to the provisions of the Civil Obligations Act governing partnership (OG 035/2005, Articles 637 to 660).

Civil Obligations Act.

However, by registering, associations acquire certain rights that unincorporated associations do not have (e.g. only associations entered in the Register of Associations and the Register of Non-Profit Organisations, etc. can apply for the allocation of funds from public sources to projects and programmes of associations).
