Housing care for citizens whose homes were damaged in the earthquake

The Ministry of Physical Planning Construction and State Assets  pays the rent of the replacement apartment to citizens who lost their homes in the earthquake

Citizens who have not yet solved their replacement accommodation and their facilities were damaged in the earthquake, provided that they meet the requirements of the public call issued by the Ministry on 18 May 2023, can apply for lease financing until the public call is announced.
 
The application can be submitted by owners of family houses, owners of apartments and protected tenants, as well as relatives of these persons in the right line, who, on 22 March and 28 or 29 December 2020, i.e. at the time of the earthquake, lived and had registered permanent residence or residence in family houses, multi-apartment buildings and residential and office buildings in the territory of the City of Zagreb, Krapina-Zagorje County, Zagreb County, Sisak-Moslavina County and Karlovac County, which were marked as N1 (usable - due to external influence) and N2 (unusable - due to damage) and therefore not suitable for housing. Owners of family houses, owners of apartments and protected tenants, and relatives of these persons in the right line, who at the time of the occurrence of the disasters or catastrophe in the territory of the City of Zagreb, Krapina-Zagorje County, Zagreb County, Sisak-Moslavina County and Karlovac County are in family houses, multi-apartment and residential-office buildings marked with PN1 (temporarily unusable - necessary detailed inspection) and PN2 (temporarily unusable - necessary emergency measures of intervention) and because of the damage are not suitable for housing, and are placed in mobile housing units (housing in temporary, movable prefabricated buildings) or are temporarily disposed of in another way (temporary accommodation in hotels, hostels and other forms of temporary accommodation).
 
The measure is implemented on condition that the owner of the apartment, his spouse, non-marital partner, life partner or informal life partner in the same area does not own another immovable apartment or family house, on which he submits a written statement under material and criminal responsibility in addition to his request.
 
The rent for the replacement apartment will be financed exclusively on the basis of concluded lease agreements that have been notified to the Ministry of Finance or the Tax Administration.
 
Requests for approval of rent financing are submitted on prescribed forms together with related documentation, directly or by mail to the address of the The Ministry of Physical Planning Construction and State Assets office, Vinogradska cesta 25, 10 000 Zagreb.
