Electronic identity

Users belonging to the education system obtain a free electronic identity in the AAI@EduHr system

AAI@EduHr is an authentication and authorisation infrastructure for science and higher education in the Republic of Croatia. Each institution in the system of the Ministry of Education and Science that belongs to the AAI@EduHr system, has their own database (the so-called LDAP register book) with electronic identities of all users from that institution. The electronic identity is a set of data about the user that, among other things, contains a username, password and an e-mail address. This information is unique for every user, while the username and password can be used to sign in to different services.

The list of web apps using the AAI@EduHr sign-in system can be found at the websites of the authentication and authorisation infrastructure for science and higher education in the Republic of Croatia

CARNET webmail is a service intended for all CARNET users who own an electronic identity in the AAI@EduHr system. It enables users to communicate via e-mail using any web browser, and the users from education system can change their password obtained from the register book administrator in their school.

All other CARNET users can use the CARNET webmail system if they have an active user account on one of the e-mail servers of the institutions that are members of CARNET. For safety reasons, all users are advised to communicate via their official e-mail address in the AAI@EduHr system.
