Military university study programmes

Since the academic 2024./2025. year, the Faculty of Defence and Security “Dr. Franjo Tudjman” has been taking over the carrying out of the university integrated undergraduate and graduate studies

Military university study programmes - university undergraduate study and graduate study Military Engineering and university undergraduate study and graduate study Military management and management are conducted in cooperation of the Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tudjman” with the University of Zagreb, and university integrated undergraduate and graduate study Military Maritime study is conducted in cooperation with the Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tudjman”, the Croatian Navy and the University of Split.

The courses are taught by lecturers from the University of Zagreb, the University of Split, the University of Defence and Security “Dr. Franjo Tudjman”, together with teachers and military experts from the Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tudjman” and other organizational units of the Croatian Armed Forces, and classes and exercises are conducted in the premises of the Croatian Military Academy, as well as in the units of the Croatian Army, support Command and the Croatian Navy.

Military Engineering

The undergraduate university study programme Military Engineering primarily focuses on the technical field, and in addition to typical academic content, the programme includes complete military training and military professional facilities for achieving the required competencies for the first officer's duty in the Croatian Armed Forces.

The Military Engineering study is performed as an undergraduate which lasts eight semesters (240 ECTS credits), and upon completion of it the academic title of bachelor (baccalaureus) of military engineering and rank of lieutenant rod armored, infantry, artillery, engineering, connection, NBKO, air defense, observation and guidance or technical service.

After completing the undergraduate study Military Engineering, in accordance with the results achieved at the undergraduate study, part of the cadets opens the possibility of enrolling in the regular graduate study Military Engineering lasting two semesters (60 ECTS credits) and acquiring the academic title of a Master of Military Engineering.

Military leadership and management

The study programme Military leadership and Management is primarily focused on the social field, and in addition to typical academic content, the programme includes complete military training and military professional facilities for achieving the required competencies for the first officer's duty in the Croatian Armed Forces.

The study Military guidance and Management is conducted as a graduate study and lasts for eight semesters (240 ECTS credits), and upon completion of it the academic title of bachelor (baccalaureus) of military leadership and management and rank of lieutenant of the infantry genus, military police or military intelligence genus.

After completing the undergraduate study Military Management, in accordance with the results achieved at the undergraduate study, part of the cadets can enrol in the regular graduate study Military Management and Management lasting two semesters (60 ECTS credits) and obtain the academic title of Master of Military Management and Management.

Military Navigation

The study programme Military Maritime with majors Military Navigation and Military Navigation is a university study primarily focused on the technical field, and in addition to typical academic content, complete military training and military professional facilities are included for achieving the required competencies for the first officer's duty in the Croatian Armed Forces, but also for duties in the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and infrastructure. Students are scholarships from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and infrastructure.

The Military Maritime studies are conducted as an integrated undergraduate and graduate university study lasting ten semesters (300 ECTS credits), with the completion of which the academic title of Master of Military Maritime Engineers (course of Military Navigation and course of Military Navigation Maritime Engineering) is obtained and the rank of Lieutenant Lieutenant Rod Maritime or Technical Service is awarded.
