Free full medical examinations
Croatian Homeland War veterans are entitled to a free preventive full medical examination
If you, as a Croatian Homeland War veteran, participated in the defence of the sovereignty of the Republic of Croatia in the combat sector for more than 100 days and are in a difficult socioeconomic and health situation, you are entitled to free preventive full medical examination, unless you exercise this right on another basis.Examinations are performed in all counties of the Republic of Croatia, at general and county hospitals, clinical hospitals and clinical hospital centres, as well at the Split-Dalmatia County Healthcare Centre and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Healthcare Centre.
The examination includes:
- laboratory tests (blood and urine analysis)
- ECG
- chest X-ray
- examination by an internal medicine specialist
- abdominal ultrasound
- prostate ultrasound for men
- gynaecological examination for women (including breast ultrasound or mammography and PAPA test).
