State scholarships for students in STEM academic disciplines

The process of awarding state scholarships in STEM academic disciplines is fully automated 

The Ministry of Science and Education awards these scholarships in accordance with the Ordinance on the Conditions and Manner of Exercising the Right of Full-Time Students to a State Scholarship in STEM Academic Disciplines. 

The right to a state scholarship in STEM disciplines can be realised by full-time students Croatian citizens and citizens of the European Union with registered temporary residence in the Republic of Croatia who have been approved the status of foreigners permanently residing in the Republic of Croatia and persons in accordance with the International Protection and Temporary Protection Act who are enrolled at the universities in the Republic of Croatia in undergraduate university studies, integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies and undergraduate professional studies in STEM academic disciplines.

Study programmes in STEM academic disciplines

Study programmes in STEM academic disciplines include study programmes in biotechnical, technical, biomedical, natural and interdisciplinary (mostly STEM) disciplines and study programmes for acquiring the academic or professional title of Bachelor of Informatics, Bachelor of Business Informatics, Bachelor of Information Sciences and Bachelor of Informatics.

Award of state scholarships in STEM academic disciplines

The process of awarding state scholarships in STEM academic disciplines is fully automated in accordance with eGovernment requirements. The Ministry of Science and Education, based on data recorded by public institutions, and in accordance with the criteria and conditions for awarding scholarships in STEM academic disciplines, identifies the students eligible for this type of support and automatically, by e-mail to the address registered in the system AAI@EduHr, informs them that they can exercise their right to a scholarship. 

Students acquire the right to receive a state scholarship after accepting the Scholarship Terms and Conditions. The acceptance of the Scholarship Terms and Conditions is considered an act of concluding a contract regulating the rights and obligations of the Ministry and the student.

The amount of the state scholarship is paid to the giro account of the scholarship beneficiary.
