Online enrolment in the 1st grade of primary school in the year of 2024./2025.

At the level of all counties, except the City of Zagreb, which will start online enrollment next year, enrollment in the first grade of primary school in the school year 2024./2025. is carried out electronically, using the National information system for enrollment in primary schools


On 22 February 2024, applications for regular enrolment in the 1st grade of primary school were opened in the National information system for enrolment in primary schools. Parents will be able to apply for the enrolment of their child in the 1st grade of primary school until 31 March 2024.

The system will show parents:
  • general information on the child
  • the school on whose list the child is placed according to the place of residence or residence.

Immediately after submitting the application, parents will be able to choose the options offered to them at the assigned school:
  • electives
  • extended stay, etc.

Also, if they have reason to do so, when applying, parents will be able to express their wish to enrol in a different school than the one to which the child belongs according to the enrolment area.

It is important that applications for enrolment of children with established difficulties were opened from 1 February 2024 to 31 March 2024.

In addition to applying for regular enrolment in the 1st grade of primary school from 22 February 2024 to 31 March 2024, parents will be able to submit:
  • application for early enrolment in the 1st grade of primary school
  • application for temporary release from enrolment in grade 1 of primary school.

Since the system for electronic enrolment in primary schools is entered through the e-Citizens portal, parents who do not have the possibility to apply for entry into the portal must contact the school to which they belong according to the enrolment area which will apply for registration of their child in their place. For all other information, the terms of school testing, medical examinations and laboratory tests should be monitored on the website of the school to which the child belongs according to the enrolment area.
