How to become a volunteer organiser

If you want to become a volunteer organiser, or you need help finding volunteers, you can request mediation from one of the regional volunteer centres

Associations, foundations, trusts, institutions and other non-profit legal persons, state authorities and authorities of local and regional self-government units can all become volunteer organisers. Institutions established by a natural person can organise volunteering only for non-profit activities.
The volunteer organiser establishes the need to involve volunteers, and determines the type of activities or services and the manner and procedures of providing these services, on the basis of the volunteering programme.

Mediation by regional centres

If you want to become a volunteer organiser, or you need help finding volunteers, you can request mediation from one of the regional volunteer centres in Osijek, Split, Rijeka and Zagreb.
The list of centres and their contact details can be found on the website of the Croatian Volunteer Development Centre.

Design and implementation of programmes

Pursuant to the Code of Ethics for Volunteers, the volunteer organiser designs and implements volunteering programmes that have clear and observable criteria for volunteer involvement as well as and monitoring and evaluation of volunteer activities, and that create a pleasant and stimulating atmosphere in which volunteers are encouraged to engage in personal development through learning, participation in teamwork and exchange with colleagues.

The volunteer organiser provides a safe and enabling environment for volunteering, as well as financial, organisational and human resources necessary for the implementation of volunteer activities, taking into account the expertise and competences of volunteers to work with beneficiaries.
