Reimbursement of transport costs due to schooling

Children with developmental disabilities and persons with disabilities may be entitled to compensation for transport costs due to education

Entitlement to reimbursement of transport costs due to schooling shall be granted:

• children with developmental disabilities and persons with disabilities, secondary school students according to an appropriate education or training programme for self-care, and there is no need to be granted accommodation or organised housing
• a pupil, a middle school student located in a foster family or family home who attends classes outside the place of residence.

A secondary school pupil who is a member of the household of the beneficiary of the guaranteed minimum benefit also has the right to transport costs.

The right is recognised if the transport is not insured on any other basis.

Covers outbound and return transport costs and is recognised at the lowest price for scheduled public transport means for the shortest route, and if the passenger uses a passenger vehicle for the transport, at the price of the public transport ticket.

Transport to children with developmental disabilities and persons with disabilities, secondary school students in their place of residence is ensured by the local self-government unit or the City of Zagreb, if transport is not insured on any other basis.
