If there is a fire near you:

  • Call the fire brigade at 193 or 112
  • Try to extinguish the fire with extinguishers or items at your disposal if you are not endangering yourself or other persons with this
  • If you are in a building and there is a fire which you are unable to extinguish, leave the building as quickly as possible
  • If you cannot leave the building due to the smoke, close all openings to prevent the smoke from entering your space
  • Do not enter the stairwell if it is filled with smoke, do not use the lift and do not breathe in products of combustion
  • If you are trapped in your apartment, wait for the fire brigade at the window so that they can see you, because fire engines are made to rescue people from heights
