e-Police

Police officers and vehicles are equipped with cameras, and citizens can report suspicious activities with the help of their smartphones

Police operations and communications centres are equipped with new and modern IT equipment and software along with an application designed to allow police officers to have constant access to the information system of the Ministry of the Interior (MUP), which allows them to work faster and spend more time in the field.

Vehicles are equipped with cameras which can be attached to a police officer’s belt or shirt. This type of most direct civic oversight protects citizens from police officers’ misconduct and abuse of power, while also protecting police officers from unfounded citizen complaints.

Filing reports via smartphones

You can report any activities that you suspect are illegal to the police via a smartphone application, which you can use to send a photograph of the activity, as well as the coordinates and a description of the activity—which is desirable—thus allowing you to quickly and anonymously communicate with the police and inform them of any potential misdemeanours and/or criminal offences.

An operations and communications centre will assess the report and decide whether it should be acted on immediately or dismissed as irrelevant.

The applications for Android, Windows and Apple operating systems can be downloaded from the website of the Ministry of the Interior under
