Sale of apartments owned by the Republic of Croatia
The subject of sale under this programme are apartments owned or co-owned by the Republic of Croatia which are used by tenants and their immediate family members
The sale of housing units owned by the Republic of Croatia is implemented by the Central State Office for Reconstruction and Housing Care pursuant to the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia on the sale of apartments owned by the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette 144/13)The subject of sale under this programme are apartments owned or co-owned by the Republic of Croatia which are, according to tenancy agreements or other acts, used by tenants and their immediate family members.
Along with the requirements and criteria for purchasing apartments prescribed in the said Decision, an additional requirement in the apartment purchase procedure is that the applicant is a Croatian citizen or a citizen of a Member State of the European Union. Applicants who do not meet the above requirement should, in order to continue their purchase procedure, obtain consent from the minister of justice.
Deadlines for submitting applications
In the case of occupants residing in apartments outside the areas of special state concern that are managed by the Central State Office for Reconstruction and Housing Care, for which the apartment tenancy agreement with tenants has not been signed yet, the deadline for submitting the application to purchase the apartment is one year from the date of signing the tenancy agreement.Furthermore, in the case of apartments for which it is determined that they are owned by the Republic of Croatia after the deadline of 30 June 2014, occupants are obliged to submit the application directly to the Ministry of State Assets within one year from the date of determining the ownership of the Republic of Croatia and based on the previously received notice on the potential purchase issued by the state authority referred to in item I of the said Decision.
