You can apply for Croatian citizenship in the competent diplomatic mission or consular office of the Republic of CroatiaSince Croatian emigrants, their descendants and members of the Croatian people live in numerous countries across the globe, the information about Croatian citizenship are available in English, Spanish and German.
Obtain the information in person also via the competent diplomatic mission or consular office of the Republic of Croatia abroad, and make an appointment to submit your application (and/or your family’s applications). The application is submitted in person. Exceptionally, in case of disabled persons, the application may be submitted by their legal representative or authorised person.
If you plan to submit your application for Croatian citizenship once you repatriate/immigrate to the Republic of Croatia, you are obliged to regulate your stay in advance; i.e. when submitting your application in the competent police administration/police station, you already need to have temporary stay granted to you.
The procedure for acquiring Croatian citizenship is carried out by the Ministry of the Interior, which is competent for interpretation of the provisions of the Croatian Citizenship Act.
