Programmes of support to the Croatian national minority in 12 European countries

The public call for applications for award of financial support to programmes/projects of organisations of the Croatian national minority is published by the Central State Office for Croats Abroad once a year and its aim is to fund programmes/projects of associations of the Croatian national minority in 12 European countries

The aim of providing continual financial support to Croatian associations is to empower the Croatian national minority communities in their countries of domicile with respect to exercising minority rights, raising their self-awareness of their ethnic, religious, cultural and language background and making them full members of the society of their country of domicile. The programme of support to the Croatian national minority is aimed at preventing further assimilation of Croatians in their countries of domicile, ensuring better legal protection of these communities and preservation of their mother tongue, culture and tradition.

Eligible to respond to the public call for applications are organisations of the Croatian national minority (associations, foundations, institutions, religious communities and other organisations of the Croatian national minority) which carry out activities being funded and which promote beliefs and goals not contrary to the Constitution and legislation of the Republic of Croatia or the legal system of their country of residence and which have been entered in the register or other record of organisations in their country of residence and are a legal person.

More detailed information about the call for applications and the procedure, terms and criteria for award of financial support can be found on the website of the Central State Office for Croats Abroad.
