Working as a retired person - Croatian veterans HRVI and members of their families

Croatian veterans and disabled Croatian Homeland War veterans have the right to work as retired persons under certain conditions

If you are a Croatian veteran who qualified for an old-age pension under the Pension Insurance Act or a special act governing the rights of Croatian veterans from 1 January 2019, you may work as a retired person receiving an old-age pension for up to half of your full-time work hours without your pension being suspended or reduced.

If you are a disabled Croatian Homeland War veteran who qualified for a disability pension due to partial loss of working capacity under a special act governing the rights of Croatian veterans from 1 January 2019, you may work as a retired person receiving disability pension full-time with your pension being reduced (pension factor 0.6667, i.e. a reduction in your pension by 1/3), since 1.1. 2024 and half-time without pension reduction and you will not be subject to a re-examination before the commencement and after the termination of employment.

If you are a disabled Croatian Homeland War veteran who qualified for a disability pension due to complete loss of working capacity under a special act governing the rights of Croatian veterans from 1 January 2019, you may work as a retired person receiving disability pension less than 3.5 hours a day without your pension being suspended or reduced, and you will not be subject to a re-examination before the commencement and after the termination of employment.

If you are a beneficiary of a family pension pursuant to the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and their family members or the pension Insurance Act, you can work with a family pension up to half of the full time without suspension or reduction of the pension.
