Maritime transport card for persons with disabilities and children with developmental disabilities

It is possible to submit a request for issuance of a maritime transport card for persons with disabilities and children with developmental disabilities (OSI card) via the e-Citizens platform

The following categories of users have the right to free-of-charge transport provided by state ferry lines with public service obligation:
  • Persons with disabilities that have a determined physical impairment of lower extremities of 80% or more;
  • Croatian war veterans with a physical impairment of 100%;
  • Persons with disabilities and a determined third-degree and fourth-degree functional deficit;
  • Children with developmental disabilities and a determined third-degree and fourth-degree functional deficit.
Free-of-charge transport for the above-mentioned categories of passengers covers the user, the accompanying person and a personal vehicle.

The right to free-of-charge transport is also exercised by children with developmental disabilities and a determined first- and second-degree functional deficit whose permanent residence is registered on an island, as well as their accompanying person.

A request for issuing an OSI card may be submitted electronically via e-Citizens or by post at the following address: Coastal Liner Services Agency, P.O. Box 8, 10 002 Zagreb.

Whether a user exercises the right to an OSI card may be verified in the Register of Persons with Disabilities kept by the Croatian Health Insurance Fund, with updated data in the register being the fundamental prerequisite for successful processing of the request. The OSI card shall be sent to the user at his/her address of permanent residence 30 days after submitting the request for issuance and the user shall be exempted from payment of delivery costs for the card.

By showing their OSI card, users may pick up their free travel tickets for a ferry ride at all points of sale of the ferry operator.
