Freshwater recreational and sport fisheries

Annual and daily freshwater fishery licences can be purchased from fishing rights holders

Sport fisheries in a certain fishing area or fishing zone require a licence purchased from a fishing rights holder.

List of fishing rights holders

The licence is valid in the fishing area or fishing zone for which the holder was granted fishing rights, as well as the fishing area or fishing zone of another fishing rights holder (provided that the holders concluded a reciprocal fishing rights agreement.

There are 132 fishing rights holders in the territory of Croatia, and they are listed, along with their fishing zones, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses, on the website of the Croatian Association for Sport Fisheries.

Validity period

Sport fishery licences are issued by the Ministry of Agriculture through fishing rights holders with a validity period of:
  • one day (daily licence)
  • the current calendar year (annual licence).

Fee amount

The fee for an annual licence for Croatian and foreign nationals aged 15 years and above and for Croatian and foreign nationals aged 15 to 18 amounts to 26,54 EUR.
 
The fee for an annual licence for Croatian and foreign nationals aged 19 years and above amounts to 53,09 EUR.
 
The fee for an annual licence for disabled veterans of the Croatian Homeland War amounts to 53,09 EUR.
 
The fee for a daily licence for Croatian and foreign nationals will amount to:
  • 7,96 EUR for fishing of all fish species (except salmonids)
  • 19,91 EUR for fishing of salmonids
  • 33,18 EUR for fishing in the Otočac fishing zone.
